My Name is Deborah Glasgow
Hello and I'm a super passionate Jewellery Artist of nearly 20 years now who loves to specialise in Sawing or Piercing Jewellery. My Journey as a Creative is that I originally after my degree in Product Design from Central St. Martins School, I worked for 3 years at Selfridges & Co where I purchased at the Department store a supply of Jewellery Materials from Brazil. The materials were bright and colourful so I was drawn to them like a magpie! My work colleagues at Selfridges & Co pushed me to keep buying and making jewellery. Eventually I left the store to start some courses in Jewellery Making and so the vision of Biblos Glasgow Jewellery was birthed in Selfridges & Co and I ran with the desire to do wire work and learn sawing at the Jeweller's Bench. The reason I am so passionate about sharing my knowledge is I know what it's like to start learning a new skill, some times we can be impatient expecting ourselves to get it right straight away. I want to pass on my Jewellery Making skills so that other people can be kind and compassionate with themselves when they do that first Jewellery Diploma and you make mistakes. On my diploma I only saw the mistakes I made, but now looking back I know my jewellery skills are endless thanks to my training. My strongest goal is to let students know that they can learn any aspect of Jewellery Making, at the pace that is best for them as an individual. My biggest challenge I faced as a Jewellery Student was being able to take criticism at the Jewellery Academy. But I know now that criticism is essential for personal growth and it sharpens your abilities. You see where you need to improve when you get good criticism.

The unique value of my digital download, is that as a Jewellery student who now became a Jewellery Teacher for about 14 years, in person and online, I know what it's like to be a student. This makes me see things from your perspective. In life we can focus on our flaws without realising how many great strengths and skills we have harnessed on our creative journey. This Jewellery Guide breaks down the barriers because at the end it explains that you are going through a process of growth and need patience with yourself. You've Got this! You can do This!
